In an impressive display of skill and dominance, the Houston Texans took command of the game against the Denver Broncos in the first quarter, amassing 155 more yards and scoring 10 more points. However, their celebration was dampened as receiver Tank Dell suffered a leg injury during a touchdown play.

The Texans started the game strong, quickly establishing their superiority on the field. After Dameon Pierce's 3-yard touchdown run, Dell found himself caught in a pile, with his left leg trapped and subsequently hit from behind by Justin Simmons. Dell experienced obvious pain and had to be helped off the field on a cart. Despite being listed as questionable to return with an ankle injury, Dell received well wishes from his teammates on the sideline.

Though the Texans displayed offensive prowess, they were unable to convert all their scoring opportunities into touchdowns. On their second drive, Houston settled for a 29-yard field goal after stalling at the Broncos' 11-yard line. However, on their third drive, they successfully found the end zone while converting two fourth downs.

The first conversion occurred on a crucial fourth-and-one at the Denver 17. Quarterback C.J. Stroud executed a quarterback sneak, gaining 2 yards to secure the first down. The second conversion was met with less resistance, as Broncos linebacker Alex Singleton committed a costly penalty. With the Texans facing fourth-and-two at the Denver 7, Singleton prematurely engaged Stroud, resulting in a false start penalty. Nevertheless, Singleton's actions earned the Texans a half-the-distance penalty, giving them a first down. Just two plays later, Pierce capitalized on the opportunity and scored another touchdown.

The statistics from the first quarter reflected the Texans' dominance on the field. Houston amassed an impressive 178 yards, while the Broncos lagged far behind with a mere 23 yards to their name.

As the game progresses, the Texans will hope to maintain their early momentum while seeking a swift recovery for Tank Dell, whose presence on the field will undoubtedly be missed.
