New York Giants tight end Darren Waller and quarterback Tyrod Taylor have been ruled out for this Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Head coach Brian Daboll confirmed the news during Thursday's practice, according to reports from various media outlets.

Waller, who missed eight games last season due to a hamstring injury while playing for the Raiders, is now dealing with an injury to his right leg. The extent of the injury has not been disclosed by the Giants, but Waller has made it clear that he will not rush his return to the field.

Speaking about his previous hamstring injury, Waller explained, "I missed eight games last year because I tried to come back too soon and ended up aggravating it multiple times in practice. This time, I'm taking a more cautious approach. I'll use the necessary time to recover efficiently and prioritize my body's well-being."

Considering the nature of his injury, Waller is a potential candidate to be placed on the injured reserve list.

On the other hand, the Giants have not provided details about the rib injury suffered by Tyrod Taylor during last Sunday's game against the New York Jets. In response, the team has taken precautionary measures by adding Tommy DeVito to the 53-man roster and signing Matt Barkley to the practice squad to provide quarterback depth.

Similar to Waller, Taylor's injury raises concerns about his availability moving forward, and he could potentially be placed on injured reserve.

The Giants will have to rely on their remaining roster depth and backup options for this weekend's matchup against the Raiders. With key players sidelined, the team's offense will need to find alternative strategies to keep the game competitive.

The Giants will continue to monitor the progress of their injured players and provide updates as necessary. In the meantime, fans will have to wait and see how the team performs without Waller and Taylor on the field this Sunday.
