In preparation for their Week 9 game against the Las Vegas Raiders, the New York Giants have made several roster moves. The team announced on Saturday that quarterback Tyrod Taylor and tight end Darren Waller will be placed on injured reserve.

Taylor, who is dealing with a rib injury, will now be sidelined for an extended period of time. This unfortunate setback comes at a crucial point in the season for the Giants, as Taylor has been a key player for them on offense.

Waller, on the other hand, has a history of hamstring injuries and had already expressed concerns about a potential multi-week absence. The decision to place him on injured reserve confirms that he will indeed be sidelined for at least a few games.

To fill the void left by Waller, the Giants have added tight end Lawrence Cager to their 53-man roster. Cager initially began the season on the active roster but was later waived and re-signed to the practice squad. However, with Waller's injury, he has now earned a promotion back to the main roster.

In an intriguing move, the Giants have also decided to elevate veteran placekicker Randy Bullock from the practice squad. This suggests that Bullock, who has been in the league since 2013, will take over as the primary kicker on Sunday. The decision to go with the experienced Bullock over 22-year-old Cade York, who was recently signed from the Tennessee Titans' practice squad, comes as a surprise to many.

Additionally, edge defender Justin Hollins will be elevated for Sunday's game. The Giants signed Hollins to their practice squad on October 24, and now he will have an opportunity to contribute on game day.

Meanwhile, the Giants placed placekicker Graham Gano on injured reserve on Friday, paving the way for the elevation of kick returner/wide receiver Gunner Olszewski to the 53-man roster from the practice squad.

Despite signing veteran quarterback Matt Barkley to the practice squad earlier in the week, the Giants chose not to elevate him. This means that undrafted free agent rookie Tommy Devito will serve as the sole backup to starting quarterback Daniel Jones, who is returning to action after missing three games due to a neck injury.

As the Giants make these significant roster moves, they will have to rely on their depth and adapt to the absence of key players like Tyrod Taylor and Darren Waller. Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders will certainly test their ability to overcome these obstacles and continue their quest for victory.
