Florida State University (FSU) starting quarterback Tate Rodemaker's status for tonight's ACC Championship Game against Louisville hangs in the balance as it is revealed that he is "50-50" to be cleared from a recent concussion. In an interview with Mad Dog Sports Radio, Rodemaker's father, Alan Rodemaker, stated that a final decision on his son's availability would be made later today.

According to Alan Rodemaker, the main concern is meeting the necessary time-frame requirements and protocols following his son's concussion. Despite exhibiting positive signs after last Saturday's game, where FSU secured a 24-13 victory over Florida, further tests conducted by the team's training staff on Sunday raised some concerns. However, throughout the week, Tate Rodemaker showed improvement and practiced daily.

Alan Rodemaker emphasized that the decision regarding his son's participation in the game rests on the clarification that will be provided later in the day. The head doctor will contact Alan after the team's walk-through to convey the final verdict.

During FSU's win against Florida, Rodemaker suffered a hard hit while sliding several yards ahead of oncoming defenders. He briefly left the game to be evaluated by team doctors but ultimately returned after passing initial on-field tests. Despite his participation in drills this week, his status for the championship game remains uncertain.

In light of this uncertainty, FSU coach Mike Norvell has been preparing backup options. Brock Glenn, a true freshman, and AJ Duffy have been working with different teams to ensure they are ready to step in if Rodemaker is not cleared to play.

As the hours tick away, the Rodemaker family and the Seminole faithful anxiously await the final decision on Tate Rodemaker's availability. According to Alan Rodemaker, it is currently a 50/50 situation, and a definitive announcement will only be made later today.

The ACC Championship Game is set to kick off tonight, bringing together two formidable teams in a clash for conference supremacy. The outcome of the game could be significantly impacted by whether or not FSU's starting quarterback, Tate Rodemaker, is able to take the field.
