Florida State University (FSU) is making waves in the college football recruiting world as the Seminoles have climbed into the Top 5 in the 2024 class rankings, with aspirations of breaking into the Top 3. With the addition of five-star defensive lineman Armondo Blount, FSU has significantly bolstered their class and is aiming for their strongest recruiting class since 2016.

Blount's decision to flip from Miami and reclassify to the 2024 cycle has propelled FSU from the No. 6 class to the No. 4 class in the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings. Blount, a highly regarded prospect ranked as the No. 20 prospect nationally, brings immense talent and a composite grade of 0.9904 to the Seminoles' class.

While Georgia currently maintains a sizable lead in the rankings with 313.77 points, Ohio State holds a strong second-place position with 303.38 points. FSU, sitting at No. 4 with 284.14 points, is closing in on rival Florida, who currently stands at No. 3 with 288.48 points. The addition of Blount and potential future commitments could push FSU into the coveted Top 3 position.

FSU now boasts an impressive three composite five-star recruits in their class. Alongside Blount, the Seminoles secured the commitments of No. 11 safety KJ Bolden and No. 27 cornerback Charles Lester. In addition, FSU has three more players in the Top 100 and a total of 10 players in the Top 250. They also have 15 four-star prospects contributing to their strong recruiting haul.

The Seminoles' pursuit of a Top 3 class could be further solidified with the impending decision of four-star cornerback Jamari Howard, who is set to announce his commitment on November 10. FSU and UF are among his finalists, with FSU currently holding favor with two crystal ball predictions. If Howard chooses the Seminoles, FSU would accumulate approximately 288.7 points, placing them ahead of UF at No. 3 in the class rankings, assuming all other factors remain unchanged in the coming weeks.

It's worth noting that FSU has not achieved a Top 3 recruiting class since the 2016 cycle, making their current campaign for a strong class all the more significant. The Seminoles are determined to build a formidable roster for the future, and their recent progress in the rankings demonstrates their commitment to securing top talent.

With the 2024 class cycle nearing its conclusion, college football fans and analysts alike will be eagerly watching FSU's recruiting efforts in the hopes of witnessing a major breakthrough into the Top 3 rankings.
