The Philadelphia Eagles are actively searching for a new offensive coordinator, and they have set their sights on Chargers assistant Kellen Moore. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that Moore is scheduled for an interview with the Eagles on Thursday.

Moore, who was the offensive coordinator for the Chargers under Brandon Staley, finds himself in limbo since Staley's departure and the arrival of new head coach Jim Harbaugh. Although Moore is still technically under contract with the Chargers, it is expected that the team will grant permission for him to explore other opportunities, given Harbaugh's plans to bring in his own staff.

Not only have the Eagles expressed interest in Moore, but the Cleveland Browns have also requested permission to interview him for their own offensive coordinator opening. It is believed that the Browns will be given the green light to proceed with the interview process.

At 35 years old, Moore has already made a name for himself in the football world. Prior to his coaching career, he spent several years as a backup quarterback for the Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys. In 2018, he transitioned into coaching, taking on the role of quarterbacks coach for the Cowboys. Just one year later, he was promoted to offensive coordinator, a position he held from 2019 through 2022.

During Moore's tenure as the Cowboys' offensive coordinator, the team achieved notable success. Their offensive rankings ranged from 6th to 1st, under both Jason Garrett and Mike McCarthy's leadership. However, following a disappointing loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the conference semifinals last year, Moore and the Cowboys decided to part ways. Shortly after, Moore joined the Chargers' coaching staff.

The Chargers' offensive performance under Moore's guidance in the 2022 season was less impressive, with the team finishing with a record of 5-12 and ranking 21st in offense. Nevertheless, his experience and track record make him an intriguing candidate for the Eagles' vacant position.

Moore is now the third candidate in the running for the Eagles' offensive coordinator role. The position opened up after the team decided to part ways with Brian Johnson, who had served as offensive coordinator for one year under head coach Nick Sirianni.

The interview with Kellen Moore marks an important step in the Eagles' search for an offensive coordinator who will help elevate their team's performance. As Philadelphia fans eagerly await the outcome, all eyes will be on the team's decision-makers and the ultimate direction they choose to take.
