In a press conference on Wednesday, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni addressed questions regarding the team's recent offensive struggles amidst a change in defensive play-calling. Despite a three-game losing streak, no changes have been implemented on the offensive side of the ball.

During their current skid, the Eagles have failed to score more than 19 points in any game, raising concerns about the team's offensive performance. When asked why he opted to make a change on defense rather than offense, Sirianni acknowledged that recent offensive performances have not been up to their standard. However, he emphasized that the offensive scheme, formulated when he was hired in 2021, remains the same as previous seasons.

Sirianni stated, "This offense is my offense. So, the criticism on the offense I think unfairly goes to Brian [Johnson, offensive coordinator]. Brian calls the plays. It unfairly goes to Brian. The criticism on this offense should come at me because this is my offense." He affirmed his commitment to the offensive scheme and acknowledged that he was hired based on his success as an offensive coordinator.

Despite the decision to stick with the existing offensive scheme, Sirianni recognized the need to put players in better positions to create explosive plays. While offensive coordinator Brian Johnson is responsible for play-calling, Sirianni asserted that the criticism should be directed at him, as he is ultimately responsible for the team's offensive performance.

Whether attributing blame to coaching decisions or individual performances, the Eagles understand the urgency to rectify issues on both sides of the ball. With hopes of making a playoff run next month, the team acknowledges the need to find a better course and improve their overall performance.

As the Eagles work to address their offensive struggles, the recent change in defensive play-calling under senior defensive assistant Matt Patricia reflects their determination to rectify areas of concern. With the playoffs looming, Philadelphia remains focused on finding the right formula to secure success.

It remains to be seen how the Eagles will respond to this new level of accountability within the coaching staff. As the season progresses, fans and critics alike will be eagerly watching to see if the team can make the necessary adjustments and regain their winning form.
