Colby Covington, known in the UFC as "Chaos," is gearing up for his third shot at the undisputed welterweight champion title this Saturday. He is set to face the defending champion, Leon Edwards, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Adding to the excitement, former President Donald Trump is expected to be in attendance to support Covington.

Covington shared that he had initially planned to have Trump walk him out to the octagon, with the former president even signing a suit for the occasion during their meeting at Mar-a-Lago. However, due to logistical issues, Covington revealed that Trump would not be able to accompany him for the walkout. Nonetheless, Covington expressed his gratitude for Trump's presence and stated that he would give him a hug before entering the octagon.

This will be Covington's third attempt at capturing the welterweight gold, having previously fought Kamaru Usman twice. In their first encounter at UFC 245, Covington put up a tough fight but suffered a knockout loss after Usman broke his jaw in the final round. Their second match at UFC 268 saw another close battle, with Usman emerging as the victor by decision.

Buoyed by the presence of Trump, Covington firmly believes that he cannot be defeated. He eagerly anticipates celebrating his victory with the 45th president, mentioning that Trump is expected to ceremoniously place the championship belt around his waist.

The flamboyant fighter made an entrance at the UFC 296 media day wearing a custom jacket that prominently featured the colors of the American flag. On the back, there was a stylized image of Trump's recent mugshot. Covington stated that Trump praised the jacket, finding it creative and amazing. According to Covington, Trump also provided him with some advice for the fight, urging him to relax, stay calm, and do what he does best – win championships.

Colby Covington's bout with Leon Edwards is expected to be a thrilling showdown in the welterweight division. Covington's determination, combined with the presence of Donald Trump, has undoubtedly heightened the anticipation for the fight. After the match, Covington and Trump plan to spend time together at Mar-a-Lago, celebrating their shared commitment to making America great again.

The UFC 296 event is set to take place on Saturday, and fans around the world are eagerly awaiting the outcome of this highly anticipated clash in the octagon.
