In a disappointing turn of events, Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges has been denied entrance to Canada for the team's game against the Toronto Raptors on Monday night. Sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that Bridges was denied access due to his past legal problems.

Bridges, who pleaded no contest to a felony charge of injuring a child's parent, has recently been serving three years of probation in relation to a June 2022 domestic violence case. The incident involved the mother of Bridges' two children, who accused him of assaulting her in front of the children. As part of his probation, Bridges must adhere to a 10-year criminal protection order for the woman, undergo weekly narcotics and marijuana testing, and pay restitution.

The NBA player most recently turned himself in on October 13 for an alleged violation of the protection order. Court documents state that Bridges "unlawfully" and "knowingly" violated the order by contacting the victim despite the restrictions.

Bridges' absence from the game against the Raptors adds to the Hornets' woes, as they are already dealing with multiple injuries to key players. Guard LaMelo Ball and center Mark Williams have already been ruled out, while forward Gordon Hayward is questionable with a stomach virus. Additionally, top reserve player P.J. Washington is listed as questionable with a shoulder issue, and guard Cody Martin is out with a knee injury.

The Hornets, aiming to snap a four-game losing streak, may now have to rely heavily on guard Terry Rozier, who is listed as probable despite a thumb injury. Bridges' absence means that the team could be without four of their five starters, posing a significant challenge for their upcoming matchup.
