In a press conference held on Friday, Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon confirmed that receiver Marquise Brown would be placed on injured reserve, effectively ending his season. Brown has been battling a nagging heel injury throughout the year, and the team has opted to shut him down to prioritize his recovery.

During his 14 games in the current season, Brown displayed his skills on the field, recording 51 receptions for 574 yards and tallying four touchdowns. This marked his second season with the Cardinals, following his acquisition from the Baltimore Ravens in a draft-day trade back in 2022.

However, with Brown's impending unrestricted free agency in March, there is a possibility that his time with the Cardinals has come to an end. This decision to place him on injured reserve hints at the team's focus on his long-term health and potential future prospects.

Since being drafted by the Ravens as the 25th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Brown has showcased his capabilities with 313 receptions, 3,644 receiving yards, and 28 touchdowns over the course of his five-year career.

As the regular season draws to a close, the Cardinals will move forward without the services of Marquise Brown, while they assess their roster and plan for the upcoming playoffs. The team remains committed to supporting him in his recovery and wishes him the best as he looks towards his uncertain future in the league.
