The search for the Chicago Bears' new offensive coordinator continues, with the team reportedly adding Zac Robinson, the Los Angeles Rams' Pass Game Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach, to their list of candidates. According to SI.com's Albert Breer, Robinson is set to interview for the position today, joining a growing list of potential hires.

With Robinson's interview, he joins Greg Olson and Greg Roman as candidates who have officially interviewed for the Bears' offensive coordinator role. Additionally, five other candidates have been requested for an interview, bringing the total number of known candidates to eight.

At 37 years old, Robinson has been coaching with the Rams since 2019, primarily focusing on quarterbacks and the pass game. Having worked extensively under Rams' head coach Sean McVay, Robinson represents yet another coach from the McVay coaching tree that the Bears are considering for the position. Despite lacking play-calling experience, Robinson's background and resume make him a contender for the job.

Before transitioning to coaching, Robinson had a brief NFL career as a quarterback, drafted by the New England Patriots in the 2010 NFL Draft. Although he didn't play in a regular-season game, he had stints with the Seattle Seahawks, Detroit Lions, and Cincinnati Bengals. Robinson also has a history with Pro Football Focus, having worked for the company before entering coaching.

With eight candidates in consideration, some may see the Bears' search as excessive. However, the team's thorough approach is aimed at finding the right fit for the position rather than rushing a decision. In contrast to their previous search, where only two candidates were interviewed, the Bears are taking a methodical approach to ensure they make the best choice for their offense.

The Bears' search for a new offensive coordinator is ongoing, and although it may take time, the team is focused on making the right hire for the job. With a wide range of candidates to choose from, the Bears hope to find the offensive coordinator who can help improve their struggling offense and maximize the potential of their roster.
