NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) - The stage is set for an exciting showdown as an estimated 45,000 passionate football fans will gather at Nissan Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 30 for the highly anticipated 26th annual TransPerfect Music City Bowl. The Auburn Tigers will go head-to-head against the Maryland Terrapins in what promises to be a thrilling match-up.

Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m., but the festivities will begin the day before with the Battle of the Bands featuring the Auburn and Maryland marching bands. Starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 29, Broadway will be closed between 1st and 2nd avenues, creating a lively atmosphere ahead of the big game.

On Saturday, parking lots at Nissan Stadium will open their gates at 9 a.m., granting access to those with valid parking passes. To ensure a smooth flow of traffic, the Metro Nashville Police Department will implement their established traffic plan, similar to the one used for Tennessee Titans games.

The Woodland Street Bridge, a key route for game-goers, will be closed at 10:30 a.m. and will only allow passage for pedestrians and shuttle buses. Fans arriving in Nashville on game day are strongly urged to arrive early and have a parking plan in place to avoid any inconveniences.

In order to maintain a safe environment, officers from the Metro Nashville Police Department will be highly visible around downtown on Friday and, on Saturday, they will be stationed around Nissan Stadium. Authorities encourage everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity, reminding fans that "if you see something, say something."

The annual TransPerfect Music City Bowl has become a beloved tradition, drawing in a sizable crowd and generating excitement both on and off the field.
