In a disappointing move for fans, Starz has officially canceled the series Shining Vale after two seasons, sources have confirmed. The decision comes as the show, led by Courteney Cox and Greg Kinnear, failed to gather a large enough audience to warrant its continuation.

According to sources close to the production, Shining Vale will also be removed from the streamer's library, leaving fans unable to access the show on the platform. The news comes after the producer, Warner Bros. TV, attempted to sell the series to other outlets, but unfortunately, those efforts did not yield any success.

Shining Vale, in addition to its main cast featuring Mira Sorvino, Gus Birney, Merrin Dungey, and Dylan Gage, boasts an impressive lineup of guest stars including Judith Light, Allison Tolman, and Sherilyn Fenn.

The series was executive produced by Astrof from Other Shoe Productions, Horgan and Clelia Mountford from Merman, Aaron Kaplan, and Melanie Frankel from Kapital Entertainment. Cox, who also served as a producer, played a crucial role in the development of the show. Shining Vale was co-created by Astrof and Horgan and was produced by Warner Bros. Television and Lionsgate Television in association with Other Shoe Productions, Merman, and Kapital Entertainment.

While the show had a dedicated fan base, it seems that it was not enough to secure its future on Starz. This cancellation serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by television series in today's highly competitive landscape, where audience numbers play a pivotal role in determining a show's fate.

As fans express their disappointment at the cancellation of Shining Vale, it remains to be seen if another network or streaming platform will pick up the series in the future. For now, enthusiasts will have to bid farewell to the eerie world of Shining Vale as it exits the Starz lineup.
