" This will mark the third collaboration between the director and the 60-year-old star, following their successful work on "Inglourious Basterds" in 2009 and "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" in 2019, for which Pitt won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role as Cliff Booth.

According to reports from Deadline, "The Movie Critic" could potentially be released in 2025, although details about the project are still scarce. Tarantino previously hinted at the film's setting during the Cannes Film Festival, revealing that it would take place in 1977. He also mentioned that the story would revolve around a lesser-known individual who wrote movie reviews for an adult magazine.

Speculation surrounded the possible subject of the film, with rumors suggesting it could be inspired by Pauline Kael, the late New Yorker film critic who wrote for the magazine from 1968 to 1991. Tarantino has expressed his admiration for Kael in the past, even publishing a book of essays titled "Cinema Speculation" that was inspired by her work.

This upcoming project holds significant significance as Tarantino has been vocal about his plan to retire after directing his 10th film. In 2021, he reiterated his intention, stating, "I know film history, and from here on in, filmmakers do not get better." Tarantino has had a fruitful career spanning three decades, with notable movies like "Pulp Fiction" and "Jackie Brown" that left an indelible mark on cinematic language.

In her review of "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," Clarisse Loughrey of The Independent pondered on the challenges facing Tarantino as an established filmmaker. She questioned how one stays fresh in an industry where they have already made a significant impact and what happens when cinema moves on without them. With "The Movie Critic," Tarantino seems to be directly addressing these notions of creative insecurity.

Alongside his wife Daniella Pick and their three-year-old son, Leo, Tarantino currently resides in Israel. He expressed his dedication to his craft, stating that he has given his all to filmmaking. As the countdown to his final film begins, fans and critics eagerly anticipate the unique storytelling and cinematic prowess that Tarantino brings to the screen.
