According to a report by the New York Post, producers of Abigail Breslin's upcoming film, "Classified," have filed a lawsuit against the former child star for breach of contract. The legal action comes after ongoing disputes between Breslin and her co-star Aaron Eckhart allegedly hindered production and resulted in a financial loss of $80,000 for the backers.

Court documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight reveal that Breslin, known for her role in "Little Miss Sunshine," accused Eckhart, 55, of displaying "aggressive, demeaning, and unprofessional" behavior towards her on set. The "Scream Queens" star expressed her concerns in a letter to the Screen Actors Guild, detailing her fears and criticizing Eckhart's conduct.

The lawsuit claims that Breslin's accusations affected the production to such an extent that it nearly came to a standstill. The actress refused to film certain scenes alone with Eckhart, prompting costly adjustments to be made. This presented delivery issues to the film's distribution partners, as there are few scenes featuring Breslin and Eckhart together.

One of the producers, identified as "Mr. Georgiev" in the suit, conducted an investigation but found no evidence supporting Breslin's allegations against Eckhart, describing them as "wild, hysterical, and imaginary."

However, the legal battle extends beyond the alleged misconduct on set. The lawsuit also states that Breslin failed to sign her long-form contract and demanded a payment of $35,000 as a condition for her signature. Her refusal to sign has put the financial stability of the production at risk by hindering the distribution agreements and jeopardizing the film's ability to qualify for tax credits in Malta, where "Classified" was filmed.

"Classified" is a forthcoming spy thriller that also stars Tim Roth. The film follows a CIA hitman who uses the classified section of newspapers to find his assignments while reconnecting with his estranged adult daughter.

Breslin and Eckhart previously collaborated in the 2007 romantic comedy "No Reservations," alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones.

The outcome of the lawsuit remains to be seen as the legal dispute continues to unfold.
