Oscar Mayer Seeks Hotdoggers to Drive the Iconic Wienermobile
ICARO Media Group
Oscar Mayer is on the hunt for a special group of drivers to join their team as "Hotdoggers." These lucky individuals will have the opportunity to operate the famous 27-foot-long Wienermobile, which has been delighting fans since its inception in 1936. The company is looking to hire a dozen Hotdoggers for year-long, full-time positions, and interested candidates can apply through the Oscar Mayer website until January 31.
Being a Hotdogger entails not only driving the Wienermobile but also maintaining it as well. Over the course of a year, these drivers travel an impressive average of 20,000 miles, visiting more than 20 states during their journey. As ambassadors for the brand, Hotdoggers are responsible for distributing 250,000 Wiener Whistles and creating engaging content for the company's social media platforms.
The role of a Hotdogger goes beyond just driving and maintenance. In recent years, these Wienermobile drivers have had the unique privilege of representing Oscar Mayer at various events. They have traveled to Puerto Rico, overseen twelve weddings in Las Vegas, and even introduced hot dog-flavored frozen pops in New York City.
Ed Roland, the 'Top Dog' and senior manager of brand communications for Oscar Mayer at Kraft Heinz, expressed his excitement about welcoming the newest class of Hotdoggers. He emphasized that being a Hotdogger is a rare and sought-after experience, noting that statistically, more people have visited space than driven the Wienermobile.
Applying to be a Wienermobile brand ambassador is not for the faint of heart. With less than 1% of applicants being selected, it is statistically easier to gain admission to an Ivy League university than to become a member of the exclusive Hotdogger class. However, having a love for hot dog puns is considered a helpful "condiment" for potential applicants.
If you've ever dreamed of being behind the wheel of the iconic Oscar Mayer Wienermobile, now is your chance. Apply before January 31 to potentially join the 37th class of Hotdoggers and embark on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, spreading joy and bringing buns of fun to fans across the United States.
