The two women, who were never particularly close, are now even less likely to reconcile after Meghan and Prince Harry's departure from their working royal family roles, according to Scobie.

Scobie's book reveals that Kate had little interest in developing a deep friendship with Meghan right from the start. In his previous book, Finding Freedom, co-authored with Carolyn Durand, Scobie cites their lack of common interests as a reason for their distant relationship.

Meghan initially had high hopes of forming a close bond with Kate, especially during her difficult pregnancy and lonely experiences as a working royal. However, Scobie reveals that Kate was uninterested in forging such a connection and never warmed up to Meghan.
