Former congressman George Santos is taking aim at HBO, vowing to pursue legal action against the channel/streaming platform for their decision to develop a movie about his contentious political career. Santos expressed his outrage over HBO optioning the rights to Mark Chiusano's book, "The Fabulist: The Lying, Hustling, Grifting, Stealing, and Very American Legend of George Santos," claiming it to be defamatory and an unauthorized use of his name and likeness.

In a candid conversation with TMZ, Santos vehemently asserted his lack of involvement in what he described as a "fictitious story" that HBO plans to promote to the American public. The former congressman expressed frustration over the filmmakers and the author's failure to reach out to him or obtain his authorization to write about his life.

Despite not having control over his portrayal in the documentary, Santos brushed off concerns, stating that he is currently working on a project that aligns with his own narrative. Expressing his dissatisfaction with HBO, Santos bluntly vented, "F*** them and their chicken s*** deal with no inside information or reality of facts."

While Santos focuses on his personal endeavors, he has been engaging with his fans on the platform Cameo, offering personalized video messages for $200. Through Cameo, Santos has been advising his supporters to ignore their detractors and persevere against criticism.

In an interesting twist, author Mark Chiusano, whose book served as the basis for the HBO film, revealed in an interview with TMZ Live that he made attempts to involve Santos in the creation of the story, but to no avail. Chiusano stands firmly by his work, confidently defending his efforts to accurately represent Santos' controversial political career.

As the battle between Santos and HBO ensues, it remains to be seen how the legal action will unfold. The streaming platform's decision to develop a movie based on Chiusano's book has ignited a clash with the former congressman, who adamantly asserts his objection to what he believes to be a misrepresentation of his life and legacy. Time will tell how this confrontation plays out in the courtroom, leaving fans and critics waiting eagerly for the outcome.
