In a recent appearance at the LACMA Art+Film Gala, renowned Hollywood actor Brad Pitt took the opportunity to commend his close friend, director David Fincher, while also playfully poking fun at Fincher's directing style on set. Pitt, who has worked with Fincher on three films and maintained a friendship for nearly three decades, shared some interesting insights into the acclaimed director's methods.

During his speech at the gala, Pitt entertained the audience by sharing some memorable quotes from the mouth of Fincher. These included phrases such as "'Let's shoot this now before we all lose interest in living,'" "'OK, we have the out-of-focus version. Now let's try one that's in focus,'" and "'That was shit through no fault of my own.'" He also mentioned a personal favorite quote from Fincher: "'I want you guys to enjoy yourselves, but that's what Saturdays and Sundays are for.'"

Pitt highlighted the fact that Fincher's approach to filmmaking is rooted in recognizing its inherent challenges and his unwavering dedication to achieving perfection. The set, for Fincher, is a place for focused work. Despite the playful ribbing, Pitt expressed admiration for his friend, stating, "Working with him, you will know what excellence feels like. His films - they've always challenged our sense of safety. As he says, 'If we're not out there juggling chainsaws, we're doing ourselves a disservice.'"

While Pitt and Fincher have only collaborated on three films – Seven, Fight Club, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button – their partnership has left a lasting impact on both the industry and audiences. Surprisingly, it has been 15 years since their last collaboration, which may come as a shock to fans who have come to associate them as frequent collaborators. However, the two had multiple potential projects in the works at different points, including a World War II picture, an adaptation of Anthony Bourdain's Kitchen Confidential, and a sequel to World War Z. Fincher even expressed his desire to cast Pitt in an adaptation of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, although the actor declined the offer.

While fans eagerly await their next venture together, Fincher's latest film, The Killer, featuring Michael Fassbender, is currently in theaters. Pitt, on the other hand, may reunite with his Babylon co-star Margot Robbie in a remake of the classic comedy, The Thin Man.

As audiences continue to appreciate the creative synergy between Pitt and Fincher, it remains a tantalizing prospect for future collaborations. For now, their three films together continue to be celebrated as significant contributions to the world of cinema.
