A 33-year-old man from Seattle, who has been accused of stalking pop star Taylor Swift, has been arrested once again in New York City. The arrest took place on Wednesday following a 911 call reporting a disorderly male in the vicinity of Franklin Street and Hudson Street in the First precinct, according to the NYPD.
Upon arrival, the male suspect left the location and entered the First Precinct, where he was subsequently taken into custody without incident. He has been charged with four counts of criminal contempt, confirming the seriousness of the allegations against him.
The man, whose identity remains undisclosed, has been seen numerous times near Swift's New York home over the past few months, raising concerns for the singer's safety. Previously, he had been arrested on Monday and appeared in court for charges of stalking and harassment.
During Wednesday's court hearing, it was revealed that the man had been asked to leave Swift's home over 10 times. According to court documents, he was sighted at the location approximately 30 times between November 25, 2023, and January 22, 2024.
The assistant district attorney for Manhattan informed the court that the man has a prior misdemeanor conviction. Due to his consistent violation of directives to stay away from Swift's residence, the prosecution requested supervised release at the highest possible level to ensure compliance with court orders.
In response to the defendant's behavior, the Manhattan District Attorney's Office sought supervised release on the grounds that there is a clear risk of non-compliance with the order of protection and failure to appear in court as directed.
Swift's representatives have not yet commented on the recent arrest.
The accused individual remains in police custody, and additional legal proceedings will take place as the case develops.
