Actor Charlie Sheen has reportedly been the victim of an alleged attack in his Malibu home by a neighbor, according to US media sources. The incident took place in the upmarket beachside neighborhood and left Sheen, famous for his roles in movies and the hit sitcom Two and a Half Men, unharmed but visibly shaken.
The alleged assailant has been identified as 47-year-old Electra Schrock, who forcefully entered Sheen's residence after he opened the door. According to reports from Fox News, she proceeded to strangle the actor, ripping his shirt in the process. Authorities have charged Schrock with assault with a deadly weapon, force likely to create great bodily injury, and residential burglary.
The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, prompting a 911 call that quickly led Los Angeles sheriff's deputies to respond to the scene. The motive behind the attack remains unclear at this time, as officials have not provided any speculation on the matter. Schrock is scheduled to be arraigned at the Van Nuys courthouse on Friday.
Sources indicate that Schrock resides in an apartment on the same street as Sheen in Malibu. Earlier this year, she pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor elder abuse charge. It is worth noting that Sheen himself has faced legal troubles in the past, including multiple arrests, such as a charge of assaulting then-girlfriend Brittany Ashland in 1996, for which he received probation.
In 2009, Sheen was arrested in Aspen, Colorado, following a domestic violence incident involving his ex-wife Brooke Mueller. He later pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault as part of a plea deal. The actor's tumultuous personal life has often made headlines in the media.
Once the highest-paid actor on television, Sheen's career took a major hit in 2011 when he was fired from Two and a Half Men after making controversial statements about the show's co-creator, Chuck Lorre. Following his departure, Sheen embarked on a nationwide tour called "My Violent Torpedo of Truth / Defeat Is Not an Option" as he sought to reinvent himself.
As the investigation into the recent attack on Charlie Sheen continues, fans and the public alike hope for a swift resolution and ultimately, the actor's continued safety and well-being.
