An unfortunate accident occurred on the set of the upcoming heist comedy film 'The Pickup', starring Eddie Murphy and Keke Palmer, resulting in injuries to several crew members. The incident took place on Saturday during a second unit action sequence that had been previously rehearsed. The film is being shot at Amazon MGM Studios in Atlanta.

According to the spokesperson for Amazon MGM Studios, the sequence did not go as planned, leading to the injuries of multiple crew members. The well-being of the entire crew and cast remains the highest priority, and the studios have emphasized their commitment to ensuring the highest industry standards of safety during filming. All necessary safety precautions were reviewed and monitored before and during the shoot.

The Associated Press reported on Tuesday that the accident involved a car crash caused by a truck malfunction. The truck allegedly "locked up" and collided with another vehicle during a stunt that was not considered particularly dangerous. Two crew members were hospitalized as a result of the incident, while one remained in the hospital on Tuesday. The injuries sustained ranged from bumps and bruises to broken bones, as per the report.

The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) released a statement acknowledging the accident and stating that an inquiry has been initiated into the incident.

'The Pickup', directed by Tim Story, known for the film 'The Blackening', is a heist comedy written by Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider. Alongside Eddie Murphy and Keke Palmer, the star-studded cast includes Pete Davidson, Eva Longoria, Andrew Dice Clay, and Marshawn Lynch. Murphy is producing the film in collaboration with Story, John David, John Fox, David Entertainment, and Charisse Hewitt-Webster from Eddie Murphy Productions.

As the investigation continues to gather facts about the accident, the entire industry remains hopeful for the swift recovery of the injured crew members and reinforces the critical importance of safety measures on film sets.
