Former reality TV personality Whitney Purvis, known for her appearance on the hit MTV show "16 and Pregnant," has found herself back behind bars after failing to make child support payments. The 27-year-old star was reportedly arrested on Tuesday following a judge's order for contempt of court in Floyd County, Georgia.
According to newly obtained documents, Whitney was found to have neglected her court-ordered obligation to pay child support. As a result, she has been taken into custody and is currently serving a 48-hour jail sentence. In addition to her time in jail, Whitney has been ordered to pay an extra $20 per month for back child support, along with her existing monthly payment of $353.
This is not the first encounter with legal trouble for Whitney. In 2012, she was arrested for allegedly shoplifting a pregnancy test from a Walmart. Later that year, she and then-boyfriend Weston Gosa faced charges for destroying someone's laptop and cell phone. Whitney has also faced allegations of attacking Weston with a broom and making threats against her ex-partner.
Whitney gained recognition on the first season of "16 and Pregnant" alongside notable stars such as Maci Bookout, Amber Portwood, Farrah Abraham, and Catelynn Lowell. Throughout her appearance on the show, Whitney documented the challenges of becoming a young mother. She welcomed her first child, Weston Jr., on the show, and later gave birth to her second son, River, in 2014.
Currently, custody of their two boys rests with Weston. However, Whitney introduced her followers to her third child, son Collin Adonis, in 2023, sharing the news on social media.
As fans and onlookers hope for Whitney's redemption and growth, this latest arrest serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggles she has faced in her personal life.
