**"Venom: The Last Dance" Dominates Box Office for Another Weekend**
In a relatively calm weekend for North American cinemas ahead of the presidential election, "Venom: The Last Dance" continued to shine. The Sony film, featuring Tom Hardy, topped the box office once again, bringing in $26.1 million in ticket revenues, according to studio estimates released on Sunday.
The movie industry witnessed the dominance of major studio holdovers at the top of the charts. Besides "Venom: The Last Dance," other frontrunners included "Venom 3," "The Wild Robot," and "Smile 2." Meanwhile, a highly-anticipated reunion of Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, and director Robert Zemeckis in the film "Here" failed to meet expectations, debuting with a meager $5 million from 2,647 locations.
"Here," hitting theaters three decades after the iconic "Forrest Gump," struggled to attract audiences despite its star-studded cast and the nostalgic connection to the beloved original. Audiences appeared uninterested in the reunion, resulting in a disappointing opening.
As the spotlight remains on blockbuster franchises, it is clear that nostalgia alone is not always enough to guarantee box office success.
