In a new lawsuit, a professional athlete is credited with halting an alleged sexual assault by Sean "Diddy" Combs at a celebrity-packed party. The incident reportedly took place in 2022 during a promotional event for Diddy's liquor brand, Ciroc. The alleged victim, identified in court documents only as John Doe, was attending the party to network with other prominent figures in the entertainment industry.
According to the lawsuit, John Doe was invited by Combs to discuss business in his office during the event. Upon entering the office, Doe observed Combs, who appeared intoxicated and was behaving erratically. The situation escalated quickly as Combs purportedly began to undress and made inappropriate sexual advances toward Doe, including grabbing his genitals.
The lawsuit details that the assault was interrupted when Professional Athlete A entered the office and intervened, allowing Doe to escape and leave the party. The plaintiff claims that the encounter left him "shocked and disoriented," and he is now seeking a jury trial to determine compensatory damages for the emotional and psychological harm he experienced.
Combs' legal team has strongly denied all accusations of sexual abuse. Attorney Erica Wolff stated that Combs looks forward to clearing his name in court and criticized the ongoing media coverage as a "reckless media circus."
The lawsuit against Combs adds to a growing list of legal challenges he faces, including serious criminal charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. Authorities suggest these charges stem from alleged criminal activities run through Combs' various business ventures, including Bad Boy Entertainment and Combs Enterprises.
As Combs awaits trial, scheduled to begin on May 5, the investigation by authorities continues, hinting at the possibility of further charges. The trial is expected to last several weeks, with the prosecution presenting its case over three weeks and Combs' defense team requiring an additional week.
