Renowned actor Al Pacino, celebrated as one of the most influential figures of the 20th century, has revealed his candid thoughts on an overlooked aspect of his illustrious career. The 84-year-old Hollywood legend, while promoting his book "Sonny Boy" in the UK, expressed a deep-seated desire for greater recognition of his performance in the 1983 film "Scarface."

In a recent appearance on the BBC's Today show, Pacino confessed that he had hoped to receive an Oscar nod for his portrayal of Tony Montana. "I would have liked to have even got nominated for that one," the actor admitted, referring to the famous character who uttered the iconic line, "Say hello to my little friend." Despite the film's enduring legacy, "Scarface" was largely ignored by the Academy at the time.

Pacino’s Oscar journey saw a triumph years later when he won the coveted award for "Scent of a Woman," a decade after "Scarface" hit theaters. Reflecting on those challenging moments, Pacino recalled, "When your director talks to you and says you're not delivering and you hear the chirping all around you start to feel like, 'I don't think I'm wanted here.'"
