In a startling turn of events, a Seattle man, identified as David Crowe, has been arrested for the second time in three days for stalking the renowned singer, Taylor Swift. Despite being released on supervised release by a Manhattan judge, Crowe returned to Swift's apartment, leading to his re-arrest by the New York Police Department (NYPD), as reported by The Post.
According to police sources, the creepy lurker was caught rummaging through a dumpster across the street from Swift's Tribeca home on Wednesday afternoon. Exclusive photos depict Crowe peering into the dumpster from various angles shortly after it was revealed that he had staked out Swift's apartment a staggering 30 times over the past two months. A concerned neighbor, who wished to remain anonymous, witnessed Crowe taking out blankets from the dumpster and then proceeding to sit on a loading dock nearby.
Crowe's initial arrest occurred on Saturday night, when he was detained after lurking around Swift's door. However, he was released without charges. On Monday night, he was arrested outside Swift's home on stalking and harassment charges, which are non-bail eligible. Consequently, prosecutors requested the highest possible level of supervised release during his arraignment on Wednesday.
Assistant District Attorney Harriet Jiranek disclosed that Crowe had visited Swift's residence on multiple occasions, questioning neighbors about the singer's whereabouts and stating that he was there to see Taylor Swift. The building's custodian had warned Crowe ten times to leave the premises, but the warnings did not deter him. According to a criminal complaint, Crowe visited the apartment 30 times between November 25 and January 22.
Swift, however, remained focused on supporting her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, during his football game. She cheered him on as the Kansas City Chiefs secured a victory against the Buffalo Bills to advance to the AFC Championship.
Crowe's attorney, Cara Mazar, revealed that her client attends school in Seattle and has a prior misdemeanor conviction. As a result of the prosecutors' plea to ensure Swift's safety, the judge granted an order of protection.
Sources have described Crowe as emotionally disturbed, but he remained nonresponsive when asked about his obsession with the pop star after the court hearing.
The repeated instances of trespassing and stalking have undoubtedly raised concerns about Swift's safety and the need for stricter measures to protect public figures from such incidents. The case is a compelling reminder of the challenges faced by celebrities in maintaining their privacy and security.
