In an effort to enhance the gaming experience for players, Bethesda has announced that a substantial patch for its highly anticipated game, Starfield, will be launched in the near future. The company has promised that this update will include "over 100 fixes and improvements," with the full update notes to be revealed when the patch enters the Steam beta on January 17th.

Bethesda has already provided a glimpse into some of the improvements players can expect from this patch. One notable enhancement is the introduction of improved textures, lighting, and shadows, which will bring a more natural illumination to characters' faces. Widescreen support will also be expanded, and the overall stability of the game will be improved.

The update will address various quest-related issues as well, such as problems with docking and data transfer in the Eye of the Storm mission. Additionally, players will no longer encounter exploration blockers resulting from missing temples in the Into the Unknown questline.

Other notable fixes include improvements to sun disk geometry and planet ring shadows, the prevention of bulldozed objects reappearing upon returning to an outpost, and the resolution of ship hatch accessibility errors. Bethesda has also stated that the patch will address the amusing yet persistent problem of asteroids following ships.

Following the Steam beta release, Bethesda plans to make the update available to all players approximately two weeks later. This patch is expected to mark the beginning of a regular six-week update schedule for Starfield, as previously announced by the studio.

Furthermore, Bethesda has already hinted at what else players can anticipate throughout the rest of 2024. Exciting advancements in the game's travel mechanics and the introduction of official mod support through Bethesda's Creation Club are among the upcoming features.

These updates are a positive sign that Bethesda is committed to enhancing Starfield's technical aspects. The new patches, according to Digital Foundry, address issues that should have been addressed at the game's initial release. With the arrival of 2024, gamers can look forward to a prosperous year of updates for Starfield.
