Absurd Ventures, the transmedia company founded by Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser, has announced its first two projects set to launch in 2024. The company aims to create new universes and tell captivating stories across various mediums.

The first project, titled "American Caper," will initially be released as a graphic novel. Illustrated by renowned comic book artist Simon Bisley, the graphic novel explores the lives of two normal yet deeply damaged American families in a world plagued by corrupt business practices, inept politics, and bungling crime.

The second project, "A Better Paradise," is an audio fiction series described as an existential suspense thriller set in the near future. Co-produced with QCODE Media, the series promises to enthrall listeners with its gripping storyline.

Dan Houser, who co-founded Rockstar Games in 1998 alongside his brother Sam, Terry Donovan, and Jamie King, is no stranger to creating successful titles. Having written or co-written games such as Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, Bully, and Max Payne 3, Houser played a vital role in the success of Rockstar's critically acclaimed franchises.

After departing from Rockstar Games in early 2020, Houser embarked on establishing Absurd Ventures, a company dedicated to the creation of games, film and TV projects, animated series, audio fiction, and graphic novels.

"We are building Absurd Ventures to create new universes and to tell great stories, wherever and however we can," stated Houser in June, emphasizing the company's commitment to captivating storytelling across different mediums.

With the debut of American Caper as a graphic novel and A Better Paradise as an audio fiction series, Absurd Ventures is poised to make a significant impact in the entertainment industry. Fans eagerly anticipate the opportunity to immerse themselves in these captivating universes, each with its own distinct narrative and unique storytelling approach.

As the launch in 2024 approaches, excitement continues to build among both fans of Rockstar Games and those eager to discover the creative endeavors of Dan Houser's Absurd Ventures. The new studio's commitment to delivering compelling experiences across multiple mediums will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on audiences worldwide.
