In exciting news for Rainbow Six Siege fans, Ubisoft has announced that Operation Deep Freeze, the fourth and final season of Year 8 content, will be released on November 28, 2023. The current season, Operation Heavy Mettle, will conclude on November 27, with Operation Deep Freeze commencing immediately the following day.

One of the highlights of Operation Deep Freeze is the introduction of the new operator, Tubarao. Hailing from Ponta Delgada, Portugal, Tubarao is a member of the Wolfguard group, which includes renowned defenders such as Doc, Rook, Thunderbird, Twitch, and more. With his unique abilities, Tubarao is expected to make a significant impact on the gameplay experience.

Tubarao's primary gadget, the Zoto Canister, is a throwable device that adheres to surfaces, releasing a freezing gas that not only deactivates enemy gadgets but also exposes footprints and slows down enemy attacks. This makes Tubarao an excellent choice for coordinated defensive strategies, particularly when paired with operators like Bandit and Pulse.

In terms of weaponry, Tubarao will have access to the MPX and AR-15.50 as primary weapons, providing versatility in different combat situations. His secondary weapon of choice is the P226 MK 25.

Operation Deep Freeze also brings with it a new map named "Lair." Set in a secret headquarters located in a massive cave, Lair offers multiple entry points for attackers and features four bomb sites. Defenders will need to devise well-thought-out strategies to defend against the numerous angles attackers can exploit on this map.

In addition to the new operator and map, Operation Deep Freeze introduces several gameplay changes. A new Defender AI playlist will replace Terrorist Hunt, allowing players to battle against AI opponents in scenarios that mimic casual matches. Frag Grenades have also undergone a rework, removing the ability to cook them for more precise timing. Instead, frag grenades will now fuse 2 seconds after bouncing off a surface, bringing them closer to the mechanics of stun grenades.

With the release of Operation Deep Freeze just around the corner, Rainbow Six Siege fans can look forward to a host of exciting new content and gameplay enhancements. Prepare to join Tubarao in the fight to secure victory when the fourth and final season of Year 8 launches on November 28, 2023.
