Modern Warfare 3 players have expressed their dissatisfaction with server issues and the performance of weapons from MW2. The smaller arsenal of MW3 has proven to be more effective, leading fans to call for changes to last year's armory.

The Carry Forward system, heavily marketed by Activision, promised to bring over everything from cosmetics to guns from MW2 to Modern Warfare 3. While this system greatly benefited those who invested in MW2's cosmetics, it has created a nightmare for balancing due to the stark differences in design choices between the two games.

Recognizing the frustration of the player community, Sledgehammer Games has addressed some of the balancing issues with MW2's weaponry. However, fans are still hopeful for more significant changes in the future.

The reboot of the Modern Warfare series by Infinity Ward introduced added layers of realism to the in-game weaponry, including intense recoil. This realism carried into the multiplayer component, making weapons difficult to handle regardless of customization in the Gunsmith.

In contrast, Sledgehammer Games strived to return to the "roots" of Call of Duty with MW3, abandoning some of the added realism in design choices made by Infinity Ward. This shift in design has led to MW2's weaponry feeling "inferior" and weak compared to the arsenal of MW3.

Numerous discussions and threads have highlighted the disappointment among players who wish to utilize MW2's weapons but find them lacking in performance. Fans have called on Sledgehammer Games to reduce the visual recoil on MW2 guns, allowing for more attachment options and improving their viability.

Among the suggestions for improvement, players have recommended using MW3 attachments such as the Slate reflector, Bruen Heavy Support Grip, and muzzle attachments that enhance gun kick control and firing aim stability. Some players have attested that MW2's guns hold up well in terms of time-to-kill (TTK), despite the visual recoil issue.

However, completely reworking guns from a title released almost two years ago may prove challenging for Sledgehammer Games. With the introduction of significant changes to how Aim Down Sight (ADS) and hipfire mechanics work in Season 2, there is a possibility for further adjustments to address the concerns raised by the community.

Modern Warfare 3 players continue to advocate for more balancing changes to MW2's weaponry, hoping to bridge the gap and create a more balanced and enjoyable experience in the game. Sledgehammer Games will need to carefully consider these requests while navigating the complexities of game design.
