Millions of New Age Furniture Tip Kits Recalled Over Child Safety Concerns

In a recent development, Alliance4Safety, in cooperation with 31 furniture companies, has announced a recall of millions of plastic New Age Furniture Tip-over Restraint Kits. This recall comes in response to the potential tip-over and entrapment hazards these kits pose to children.
The New Age tip restraint kits, which were sold with clothing storage units manufactured in Vietnam by New Age Industries Co. LTD, consist of a plastic zip-tie, two brackets, and two screws. To identify if their clothing storage unit is affected, consumers are advised to check for a date of manufacture sticker or stamp indicating November 2019 or later.
The packaging of the recalled tip kits can be identified by its white color and black lettering. It contains directions on how to anchor furniture and bears the statement "Manufactured by New Age Industries" on the bottom. Consumers who have identified that their clothing storage unit fits the specified criteria and if the tip kit is made of plastic, are urged to contact Alliance4Safety for a free replacement tip kit.
The recall stems from reports received by furniture companies regarding two instances of the New Age tip kits breaking. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported thus far due to these incidents.
The primary concern associated with the recalled furniture tip kits is the plastic zip tie, which is prone to becoming brittle or breaking. This poses a significant risk in the event of a furniture tip-over, leading to the detachment of the anchored clothing storage unit. Such a scenario may result in tip-over and entrapment hazards, potentially leading to serious injuries or even death of a child.
This recall comes on the heels of TJX recalling their Foldable Wood and Rope Bistro Set Chairs due to a fall hazard caused by the potential breakage or collapse of the wooden frame when a consumer is seated. Additionally, Room & Board has recalled Griffin Duo Bunk Beds due to the risk of collapse, falls, and injuries resulting from improper and missing set screws in the side rail brackets during assembly. Meanwhile, Savvy Rest has recalled Quilted Cotton Mattress Pads that failed to meet federal flammability standards, posing a potential fire hazard.
The safety and well-being of consumers, especially children, is of paramount importance. Alliance4Safety, along with the furniture companies involved, are actively working to rectify this potential danger by offering free replacement tip kits to affected consumers. In the meantime, it is crucial to keep children away from the clothing storage units while waiting for the replacement tip kits.
If you believe your New Age furniture tip kit is affected by this recall, act swiftly and contact Alliance4Safety for further instructions. By doing so, you can help ensure the safety of your loved ones and prevent any potential accidents or injuries.
