In a recent report by the Wall Street Journal, it has been revealed that Elon Musk's use of illegal drugs was known among several current and former directors of Tesla Inc. and SpaceX. The article suggests that there were concerns about the frequency and quantity of Musk's drug consumption, with claims that he even took drugs with some of his board members.

According to individuals who either witnessed Musk's drug use or were briefed on it, the board did not conduct any investigations into the matter, nor did they document any concerns. This revelation comes in the wake of a Delaware judge slamming the relationship between Musk and his directors, citing conflicts of interest and ruling the CEO's $55 billion pay package as excessive.

The Wall Street Journal had previously reported that Musk has been known to use a variety of illegal drugs, including LSD, cocaine, ecstasy, and psychedelic mushrooms, often at private parties. Musk's attorney, Alex Spiro, had countered these claims by stating that his client was routinely and randomly drug tested at SpaceX, with no failed tests to date.

The article sheds light on a disturbing aspect of Musk's social circle, stating that some friends and directors felt pressured to partake in illegal drug use alongside him, fearing it could otherwise upset him. The reasoning behind this was the fear of "losing the social capital" associated with being in Musk's inner circle.

When asked for comment, both Musk and his lawyer did not respond to the Wall Street Journal's requests. However, Musk had previously responded to a similar story, stating on X, "Whatever I'm doing, I should obviously keep doing it!" He went on to cite Tesla and SpaceX as the world's most valuable car and space companies and even expressed a willingness to take drugs if they helped improve his productivity.

Elon Musk, who oversees six companies including Tesla, SpaceX, and X, formerly known as Twitter, has yet to address the specific allegations raised by the Wall Street Journal's recent report. The revelations are likely to further fuel debates about the dynamics within Musk's companies and the extent of his influence over those on his board.
