These price increases come as a surprise to many subscribers, who may now be looking for ways to cancel their subscriptions.
Starting from today, the monthly subscription price for Apple TV+ will be $9.99, up from $6.99. Similarly, Apple Arcade+ will now cost $6.99, with an increase of $2. Additionally, the price of Apple News+ has been adjusted to $12.99 per month, previously priced at $9.99. Apple One bundles have also seen a rise in cost, with Individual and Family plans increasing by $3, and Premier plan rising by $5. It's important to note that these price adjustments will be implemented in most countries where Apple services are available.
For users who are dissatisfied with the new price points, Apple has made it easy to cancel their subscriptions. On an iPhone or iPad, Apple One subscribers can simply tap on "Cancel All Services" to terminate their subscription for all services. Alternatively, users can choose to keep specific services by tapping on "Choose Individual Services." If users have individual subscriptions, they can select the specific subscription they want to cancel and choose the "Cancel Subscription" option.
After canceling a subscription, users will still have access to their services until their next billing date. For instance, if a user has already paid for a year of Apple TV+, they will continue to have access until the expiration date of their subscription. On the other hand, Apple One subscriptions are only available on a monthly basis, meaning users will have access for up to one month before losing access.
Mac users can also cancel their subscriptions using a similar process. By opening the System Settings app, clicking on their profile picture, selecting Media & Purchases, and choosing "Manage" under the Subscriptions option, users can follow the aforementioned steps to cancel their subscriptions.
It's worth noting that while the increased prices take effect immediately for new subscribers, existing subscribers will have a 30-day grace period before experiencing the price increase on their next renewal date. Apple is expected to send out emails notifying subscribers of the upcoming price changes.
As Apple implements these price hikes, it remains to be seen how subscribers will respond and if it will impact the popularity and retention of their services.
