In a surprising update, Shohei Ohtani, the star player for the Los Angeles Dodgers, revealed that he will be making his debut for the team in the upcoming Seoul Series games against the San Diego Padres. Ohtani took to Instagram to share a photo featuring his wife, Mamiko Tanaka, confirming speculations about their relationship.

Ohtani's decision to include Tanaka in the photo sparked curiosity among fans and media alike. Known for his privacy, Ohtani rarely shares details about his personal life. However, in late February, he unexpectedly announced his marriage to Tanaka, a former Japanese basketball player for the Fujitsu Red Wave in the Women's Japan Basketball League.

Despite keeping the wedding details under wraps, Ohtani mentioned that he had known his wife for three or four years and described her as a "normal Japanese woman." He refused to disclose the exact date of their marriage but confirmed that Tanaka was present with him during spring training. Ohtani emphasized that his wife's support played no role in his decision to sign with the Dodgers.

This is not the first time Ohtani has made significant announcements through social media. Earlier in the offseason, he used his Instagram account to reveal his signing with the Dodgers, which was reported to be a record-breaking contract worth $700 million, with $680 million deferred.

Although Ohtani's pitching debut will have to wait, his presence as the designated hitter for the Dodgers in the upcoming Seoul Series games is highly anticipated. Scheduled to be held on March 20 and 21 at the Gocheok Sky Dome, these games will mark Ohtani's official introduction to the Dodgers roster.

As fans await Ohtani's arrival and eagerly anticipate his impact on the field, this unexpected glimpse into his personal life has sparked further curiosity. While details about their relationship remain scarce, Ohtani and Tanaka's presence in South Korea for the Seoul Series is sure to add even more excitement to this highly anticipated matchup between the Dodgers and the Padres.
