Notably, he tied for the second highest number of goals in his career last season, recording 13, and had the third-highest scoring season with 38 points. Additionally, he achieved a career-high of four power play goals during that season.

During his time with the Blue Jackets in the 2016-17 season, Wennberg shone brightly by notching a career-high 46 assists and 59 points. He has also contributed significantly to the Kraken's playoff campaign, with a total of 42 playoff games under his belt, during which he registered seven goals and 10 assists, leading to 17 points. In the most recent postseason run with the Kraken, Wennberg made his presence felt by tallying seven points, including 2 goals and 5 assists, in 14 games.
