NASCAR fans were met with yet another delay as the Xfinity Series Daytona race was pushed back to 9 p.m. ET on Monday evening due to wet weather in Florida. Initially scheduled for Saturday, the 300-mile event had to be rescheduled multiple times. Xfinity Series rookie Jesse Love claimed the pole position, with Austin Hill beside him. Reigning champion Cole Custer is set to start from the 17th position.
Meanwhile, the NASCAR Cup Series season opener also faced weather-related obstacles, being postponed to 4 p.m. Monday. The Daytona 500, which experienced a full postponement for the first time since 2012, will feature Joey Logano on the pole. Grand Marshal Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is expected to add excitement to the event.
Despite the setbacks, drivers like Zane Smith and Carson Hocevar from Spire Motorsports are aiming to engage with fans who have been eagerly awaiting the races. Smith expressed disappointment in the rain but promised to interact with fans who came out to support the event.
Both the Xfinity Series United Rentals 300 and the NASCAR Cup Series race will be broadcasted on FS1 and FOX, respectively, providing fans with the opportunity to witness the thrilling races unfold under the lights in Daytona.
