Major League Baseball's exhibition season commenced with a game featuring the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres, who will also launch the regular season on March 20 in Seoul, South Korea. Despite the return of baseball action, players have expressed dissatisfaction with MLB's new Nike Vapor Premier uniforms manufactured by Fanatics. The uniforms, intended to offer a "lighter" fit compared to the old ones, have faced widespread negative feedback from both fans and players. Criticisms include reduced lettering size on the back of jerseys, poor fit, and a perceived "cheap" appearance.

Players like Miles Mikolas have voiced concerns over the fit of the new uniforms, highlighting issues such as the pants no longer being as custom-fitted and differences in fabric consistency. Notably, transparent pants have emerged as a point of contention, prompting MLB Players Union head Tony Clark to acknowledge the matter. The MLB, MLBPA, Nike, and Fanatics are reportedly working on adjustments to address players' concerns, including jersey size, waist, in-seam, thigh fit, and the bottom of pants. If these issues are not resolved before Opening Day, players may need to resort to wearing additional gear under their uniform pants to preserve their modesty on the field.
