Luke Toporowski, aged 22, has shown great potential during his time with the Providence Bruins in the American Hockey League (AHL). In 96 games, he has accumulated 46 points, including 22 goals and 24 assists, along with four power-play goals and four game-winning goals. Standing at 5-foot-11 and weighing 180 pounds, the native of Bettendorf, IA, is known for his skill and offensive contributions. He will now join the Iowa Wild, the Wild's AHL affiliate.
On the other hand, Pat Maroon, aged 35, has been an integral part of the Minnesota Wild lineup this season. In 49 games, he has notched 16 points, comprising of four goals and 12 assists. Maroon, who stands at 6-foot-3 and weighs 234 pounds, is known for his physicality and ability to deliver impactful hits on the ice. However, his season was cut short due to a back injury that required surgery on February 6. As a result, he has not played since January 21.
The trade provides the Wild with a promising young player in Toporowski, who has shown potential in the AHL. In return, the Bruins receive the experienced presence of Maroon, a player who brings physicality and depth to their lineup.
