In a highly contentious bout, Anderson Silva suffered a third-round TKO loss to Chris Weidman at UFC Atlantic City on Saturday night. Multiple eye pokes throughout the fight cast a shadow of doubt over the result, leading Silva to express his frustration and accuse the referee of mishandling the situation.

Silva immediately protested after the fight, claiming that Weidman had inserted his finger into his eye during the final attack. The replay later confirmed that Silva had indeed been poked in the eye. Despite Silva's plea for a no-contest ruling, the New Jersey commission deemed it a technical decision in favor of Weidman.

The former champion felt that the commission had unfairly favored Weidman with their calls and has expressed his intention to file an appeal. Silva stated, "We think it's hard for Chris Weidman to accept a rematch, but the no-contest would be fair. Let's see what the UFC does. I just want things done the right way, the fair way."

Silva asserted that he had never been knocked out in his career and was furious when he saw Weidman celebrating. While he initially held no animosity towards Weidman, Silva's perception changed after re-watching the fight. He accused Weidman of acting in bad faith, claiming that the New York native consistently pointed his fingers towards his face throughout the fight.

Weidman, on the other hand, placed the blame on Silva, stating that he shouldn't have dropped to the ground after the eye pokes. "You can't just drop. He did that three times, and it caught up to him," Weidman said during the post-fight interview.

Silva fired back, "What did he want me to do, to smile at his face? He put his finger inside my eye. It was my eye, not his. To be told off by the guy that is in the wrong is unbelievable, right?"

Despite previously showing respect towards Weidman, Silva indicated that any future rematch would be devoid of any courtesy. "I never liked Chris Weidman because of how he handled Anderson Silva's leg break, but I always try to see it as a professional," Silva explained. "But when I got to the hotel and watched the fight, f***, he was very disloyal. There will be no loyalty anymore."

The controversial outcome has stirred up a heated debate within the MMA community, with several fighters expressing their disapproval of the decision. Silva's fans and supporters are eagerly awaiting the result of his appeal, hoping for a just resolution to the events that unfolded at UFC Atlantic City.

It remains to be seen how the situation will be resolved, and whether a rematch between Silva and Weidman will take place. For now, the aftermath of this fight continues to raise questions about fair play and the importance of proper officiating in the world of mixed martial arts.
