Brooklyn Nets suffered a blow during their game against the Minnesota Timberwolves as starting point guard Ben Simmons was forced out with a left leg injury. The Nets ultimately lost the game 101-86, and Simmons' status moving forward remains uncertain. Interim coach Kevin Ollie mentioned that Simmons was experiencing knee soreness and would undergo further tests to determine the extent of the injury.
Simmons, who has recently been plagued by health issues, was ruled out of the game in the third quarter. The injury comes as a concern for the Nets, as Simmons has had limited appearances since joining the team in a trade deal involving James Harden.
Additionally, Cam Johnson saw a shift in his role during the game against the Timberwolves, coming off the bench for the second consecutive game. Despite initially struggling in his new role, Johnson managed to contribute 10 points and seven rebounds during the matchup.
Coach Ollie hinted that lineup changes could continue as part of the team's evaluation process in the pursuit of improvement. The Nets will need all players to step up and adapt to their roles to progress further in the season.
