In a retaliatory move against an Israeli airstrike, Yemen's Houthi terror organization announced on Sunday that they had carried out two military operations - one in the Gulf of Aden and the other in Eilat, the southern tip of Israel.

Houthi military spokesperson, Yahya Saree, revealed that the group targeted the Israeli ship MSC UNIFIC in the Gulf of Aden using ballistic missiles and drones. They also conducted drone attacks on military targets in Eilat. These actions were taken in response to the Israeli airstrike on Khan Yunis the previous day. The attack resulted in the deaths of at least 90 Palestinians and left 300 others injured, according to the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry.

In a separate development, the US Central Command issued a statement on Sunday stating that they had successfully destroyed two Iranian-backed Houthi uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) and one uncrewed surface vessel (USV) in the Red Sea. Additionally, they targeted one Houthi UAV in a Houthi-controlled area of Yemen. The US Central Command justified these actions by stating that these systems posed an imminent threat to US coalitions forces and merchant vessels in the region.

Since November, Yemen's Houthi group, closely aligned with Iran, has been launching drone and missile strikes in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden shipping lanes. The group claims that these actions are in solidarity with the Palestinians affected by Israel's recent war in Gaza. These attacks have already resulted in the sinking of two vessels, the seizure of another, and the loss of at least three seafarers' lives.

The situation remains tense in the region as Yemen's Houthis continue their military operations while the US Central Command takes action to neutralize their threats. The ongoing conflict between Israel and the Palestinians in Gaza continues to fuel tensions and prompted these retaliatory actions from the Houthi terror organization.
