Woman Shot at McDonald's Drive-Thru During Argument on Chicago's Northwest Side

In the early hours of Tuesday, a woman was shot at a McDonald's drive-thru following a heated altercation with a man in the Hermosa neighborhood of Chicago. The incident occurred at approximately 1 a.m. on the 4300 block of West North Avenue.
According to authorities, the 18-year-old woman was behind the wheel of a vehicle, waiting in line at the fast-food restaurant's drive-thru, when an unidentified man approached on a bicycle. An argument quickly ensued between the man and the woman, as well as three passengers in the vehicle.
As the disagreement escalated, the man drew a handgun and allegedly fired multiple shots. The woman was struck in the back and left arm before the suspect fled the scene.
Realizing the severity of her injuries, the wounded woman managed to drive to Ascension Saint Mary Hospital for immediate medical attention. She was later transferred to Stroger Hospital and is reported to be in good condition.
Chicago police are currently investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made thus far. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage and speaking to witnesses to gather more information about the shooter. The motive behind the altercation remains unknown at this time.
