Woman Arrested for Alleged Stabbing at Giant Eagle Parking Lot in North Olmsted

In a shocking incident that occurred on Monday afternoon, a 32-year-old woman from Cleveland has been taken into custody after an alleged stabbing that left a woman and her three-year-old child injured in the parking lot of Giant Eagle in North Olmsted.

According to reports, the incident took place around 3 p.m. in the 27000 block of Lorain Road, prompting multiple 911 calls about a possible stabbing. The police swiftly responded to the scene and were provided with a suspect description. Shortly thereafter, they located the alleged assailant.

While waiting for emergency medical services (EMS) to arrive, the officers provided immediate treatment to the victims. The current condition of the injured mother and her child remains unknown at this time.

Expressing her deep sadness, North Olmsted Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones released a statement regarding the incident. She stated, "I am deeply saddened by an incident this afternoon in the parking lot of the North Olmsted Giant Eagle Supermarket. A female, who is currently in the custody of North Olmsted Police, stabbed a female customer and her three-year-old son. Both mother and child were immediately transported to St. John Medical Center where they are undergoing treatment at this time. Our hearts go out to the two victims of what appears to be a random act of violence. Once again, our North Olmsted safety forces responded quickly and handled the situation with tremendous professionalism."

Authorities are currently investigating the motive behind the attack and any potential connections between the alleged assailant and the victims. Details about the suspect's identity or any previous criminal history have not been disclosed.
