In a shocking incident captured on camera following Brooklyn's Pride Parade, a video showing a man punching a woman in the face has gone viral on social media. The video has generated widespread outrage due to the violent nature of the act. The man in the video has been identified as Jonathan Kaye, an investment banker.
In the video, which has been widely circulated online, Kaye is seen striking the woman with such force that she stumbles backward and falls down on the street. Another individual can be observed lying on the ground in the background, while two people rush to offer assistance.
The video was accompanied by a caption that read, "This guy punched me in the face today and broke my nose and busted up my friend's arm; can anyone find him?" The incident took place on Saturday evening. As Kaye walks away in the footage, a bystander can be heard exclaiming, "Oh my God! You're an a-hole."
When confronted by witnesses, Kaye defends his actions, stating, "She f--g threw s-t all over me." He appeared to have liquid on his jacket, possibly contributing to his reaction. Another man can be heard expressing his disapproval of Kaye's behavior, calling him a "horrible person."
In response to the incident, a Moelis spokesman addressed the situation, stating, "We have become aware that one of our employees was involved in a serious incident in Brooklyn on June 8. We take this matter very seriously and are conducting an investigation." Kaye works as an investment banker for Moelis.
Despite the video's widespread circulation, the police have not received any official reports regarding the assault. An NYPD spokesman stated, "The NYPD is aware of the video. We encourage anyone who has been a victim to file a police report. There are currently no complaint reports on file."
Efforts to reach Kaye for further comment were unsuccessful, as a woman answering a phone call for him claimed he was not available and promptly ended the call.
The incident has sparked a conversation about the safety and respect during Pride events. The community is calling on witnesses and victims to come forward and report any instances of violence or assault.
As the investigation continues, the consequences of Kaye's actions remain uncertain. The incident serves as a stark reminder that violence and aggression have no place in society, especially during events that celebrate inclusivity and diversity.
