**Bomb Threats Target Connecticut Democratic Lawmakers' Homes**
**WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP)** - Several Connecticut Democrats in Congress found their homes targeted by bomb threats, prompting swift responses from local law enforcement. Representatives Jim Himes, Joe Courtney, and John Larson all reported such threats, though police investigations found no bombs on their properties.
The alarming incidents occurred just a day after prominent figures in President-elect Donald Trump's incoming administration faced similar threats. These threats also included "swatting attacks" intended to provoke emergency responses under false pretenses.
Rep. Joe Courtney's family experienced the scare firsthand at their Vernon residence, while Rep. Jim Himes was informed of the danger during a Thanksgiving celebration. Police from Greenwich, Stamford, and U.S. Capitol Police were quick to respond. Himes expressed gratitude to local law enforcement for their prompt actions, emphasizing the need for peace and civility during the holiday season.
Rep. John Larson also noted a bomb threat against his East Hartford home, managed by the East Hartford Police.
These threats are part of a violent backdrop to the recent election season. Notably, a gunman at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, injured Trump and killed a supporter, and the Secret Service recently thwarted another assassination attempt on Trump at his golf course in West Palm Beach.
Prominent Trump appointees also received threats, including Rep. Elise Stefanik, selected to be the next U.N. ambassador; Matt Gaetz, nominated for attorney general; Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer, picked to lead the Department of Labor; and former Rep. Lee Zeldin, chosen to head the Environmental Protection Agency.
