In anticipation of the upcoming Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago, Vice President Harris has gained significant momentum as the Democratic nominee in crucial battleground states, according to recent polling data. The Sunday shows this week are expected to delve into Harris's rising popularity and her prospects against former President Trump in key swing states.

Recent polling conducted by The New York Times/Siena College reveals that Harris is leading Trump by 4 points in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. In Arizona, she holds a 5-point advantage, while in North Carolina, she leads by 2 points. Furthermore, the polls show that Harris trails Trump by only 1 point in Nevada and 4 points in Georgia.

The DNC, which is set to take place in Chicago next week, promises to be a momentous event, with Illinois Governor JB Pritzker expressing palpable excitement. Governor Pritzker is scheduled to appear on CNN's "State of the Union" on Sunday, where he is likely to discuss the preparations and enthusiasm surrounding the convention.

Representative Seth Moulton of Massachusetts, one of the initial House Democrats to urge President Biden to step aside from the 2024 presidential race, will be featured on "The Hill Sunday" on NewsNation. Moulton recently defended Harris's running mate, Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota, against an attack on his military record by Republican VP nominee Senator JD Vance. Senator Vance is slated to appear on "Fox News Sunday" this week.

Moulton, a Marine Corps veteran, took to social media platform X to criticize Vance and Trump for their denigration of those who honorably serve the country. Reminding Vance that not all servicemembers see combat, Moulton expressed pride in serving alongside Governor Walz, whom he praised as a true American patriot.

Additionally, Senator Mark Kelly of Arizona and Governor Andy Beshear of Kentucky, whose names were previously considered as potential picks for Harris's vice presidential slot, will make appearances on CBS's "Face the Nation" this week. Kelly, a retired Navy captain, also rebuked Vance for his attack on Walz's military record, highlighting the importance of respect instilled by the United States Marine Corps.

The Sunday shows lineup also features other notable figures, such as Senator Tammy Duckworth, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, Senator Chuck Schumer, Senator Lindsey Graham, Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Representative Hakeem Jeffries, Governor Chris Sununu, and Senator Chris Coons.

As the Democratic National Convention draws near, Vice President Harris finds herself leading the polls in vital battleground states, generating enthusiasm within the Democratic Party. With the focus centering on her rise as the Democratic nominee, the Sunday shows offer a platform to discuss the state of the presidential race and the upcoming convention.
