### Vertiv Expands Liquid Cooling Solutions for AI Applications with New High-Capacity Units
Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a global leader in critical digital infrastructure solutions, has announced the expansion of its liquid cooling product line with the release of two advanced CoolChip CDU (coolant distribution unit) systems. Revealed at the SC24 international conference from November 19-22, these units are designed to support the intense cooling needs of AI applications in data centers, enabling the simultaneous operation of high-density AI computing and traditional air-cooled racks.
The new Vertiv™ CoolChip CDU models cater to diverse data center requirements. The 2300kW liquid-to-liquid system offers a compact design with a cooling capacity of 2.3 MW, optimized for hyperscalers and colocation providers. Its smaller footprint allows for placement within rows or external mechanical galleries, thus reducing overall costs and spatial demands.
On the other hand, the 350kW liquid-to-air model facilitates direct-to-chip liquid cooling with air-based heat rejection, making it an ideal solution for retrofitting existing facilities without the need for a facility chilled water system. Both models are engineered to distribute coolant directly to liquid-cooled chips and rear-door heat exchangers, and they incorporate advanced controls to adjust to fluctuating temperature and flow demands.
"I"AI-focused data centers require cutting-edge cooling technologies," stated John Niemann, senior vice president of Vertiv's thermal business unit. "Our expanded liquid cooling portfolio, combined with our air cooling, heat rejection, and re-use solutions, prepares data centers for the growing demands of AI, making deployments more seamless and cost-efficient."
Vertiv's comprehensive service offerings further enhance the deployment and management of liquid-cooled infrastructure, covering everything from solution design to lifecycle and fluid management. These new liquid cooling units are integral to Vertiv's mission to provide robust, efficient, and flexible solutions for modern data centers.
Headquartered in Westerville, Ohio, Vertiv is a global entity operating in over 130 countries, offering a wide array of power, cooling, and IT infrastructure solutions that enable continuous and optimal performance of critical applications.
