USCIS has recently completed the initial random selection process for the fiscal year 2025 H-1B cap, selecting beneficiaries for the regular cap and advanced degree exemption. Petitioners with selected registrations during the initial filing period from April 1 to June 30, 2024, were eligible to file H-1B cap-subject petitions.

Recognizing the need to reach the regular cap numerical allocation for FY 2025, USCIS will soon conduct a second round of selections for unique beneficiaries from previously submitted electronic registrations. Those selected during this second round will be notified and deemed eligible to file an H-1B cap-subject petition for the specified beneficiary.

The second selection process will not include the advanced degree exemption (master's cap), as sufficient petitions were already received based on the earlier selections to meet the master's cap numerical allocation for FY 2025. Both master's cap and regular cap registrations will be considered in the upcoming selection round.

Selected petitioners will receive notification through their USCIS online accounts, detailing further instructions on when and where to file their petitions. USCIS will provide updates on the completion of the second round of selections and notifications.

Stay tuned for more updates on USCIS's ongoing selection processes for FY 2025 H-1B cap registrations.
