### US Officials Anticipate Israeli Response to Iranian Missile Attack

The United States anticipates that Israeli retaliation to Iran's recent missile strikes could begin as early as Saturday night, according to US media reports. Israeli decision-makers are reportedly focusing on military and energy infrastructures as potential targets for their response.

There has been no indication that Israel will target Iranian nuclear sites or carry out targeted assassinations, NBC News reported, citing unnamed US officials. However, Israeli leadership has yet to finalize their response strategy, including both the timing and the nature of their actions.

This expected Israeli retaliation comes after Middle Eastern tensions were heightened by Iran's missile attack on October 1. The region, already strained from ongoing conflict in Gaza and hostilities spilling over into Lebanon, has been on high alert awaiting Israel's counterattack.

The response might coincide with the conclusion of the Jewish Yom Kippur holiday, which ends on Saturday at nightfall, US and Israeli sources have indicated. In light of the precarious situation, the United States and other allied nations have been advocating for a restrained Israeli response to prevent further escalation in the region.
